Summer in Valle Aurina: Trekking, hiking, MTB…

4.5 km | 460 m altitude | 1.5 h | Weissenbach | Intermediate

From Weissenbach – or directly from Fronza, which extends the tour by a total of around 14 km (+ 7 km each way) – the route goes through a picturesque landscape of forests and meadows to the idyllically situated Schönbergalm, which has special culinary specialities to offer.

You start directly at Fronza. From there the route goes via Oberluttach in the direction of Weissenbacher Tal. Turn left before the bridge and follow the forest path (toboggan run in winter) up to the tree line. Then continue on the gravel road to the Sonnklarspitze with its stunning panorama. You return via the Daimerweg to the valley near the Speikboden valley station and from there into the valley to Fronza.

This demanding tour, which you can also start directly in Lutago and extend accordingly, leads from Rein in Taufers, past Knuttenalm and Klammlsee over the pass called “Klammljoch” into the Austrian Defereggental. From there the route goes over the picturesque Jagdhausalm to St. Jakob in Defereggen and back up to the Staller saddle, which connects Defereggen with Antholz. The route then goes through the Anterselva Valley to Rasen and via Bruneck back to Lutago.

From Lutago the route goes via the Weissenbacher valley up to the Göge Alm, which is idyllically situated in a valley basin and offers an impressive view of the 3,000m peaks that surround it. The return trip is the same as the way there.

19.5 km | 1 h | 100 m altitude | Lutago | Easy

Quite an easy and family-friendly excursion that you can start directly from Lutago. As soon as Sand in Taufers is reached, the route is flat to Bruneck. The town is ideal for a shopping tour or for a delicious drink as a reward. If you want, you can take the bus from Bruneck back to Valle Aurina. You can also come back by bike, which doubles the length and time.

9.5 km | Prettau | 2 h | Intermediate | Prettau

This beautiful tour over the Valle Aurina sunny side leads from Prettau in the direction of the Fuchsalm and Schüttal Alm to the Tauernalm. You can also start the tour directly from the hotel. However, you would have to include the 18.5 km journey and the corresponding time for the return journey in the calculation.

One of the most important attractions is probably the Alpine Coaster “Klausberg Flitzer”, which promises pure thrills with its 1,800 metres in length. The Klausberg Zipline also promises goosebumps and adrenaline, taking you at breakneck speed from the Kristallalm to the Family Park Klausberg. It will be exciting and informative in Dinoland, where numerous life-size dinosaur sculptures await the little guests. The Balance parcours and the Water adventure world also make the Klausberg a true paradise for children.

The Speikboden also has endless other things to offer in summer. Not only families are enthusiastic about the large forest slide park, the cosy petting zoo and the unique opportunity to jump in hay.
